Spiral Flower Cookies

A "Garden" of Mike and Ike Spiral Flower Cookies!

Once again I just made some sugar cookies and decorated them.  These ones are to sell for snacks at my kid's recital for their gymnastics and karate club Power and Grace, in our small little town in Washington!  I melted some chocolate, put it in a Ziploc, cut the corner off and "piped" a spiral of chocolate onto the cookie.  The chocolate has 2 purposes.... 1) for decoration and 2) for 'glue' for the candy.  After I piped on the chocolate I put a mini jawbreaker in the middle to represent the middle of the flower and Mike & Ike candies for the petals of the flower.  Overall, a cute little treat to help make money for our gymnastics club!

Sunshine or Flower Cookies

A collection of sunshine cookies

I made blue sugar cookies yesterday to try to make Canucks logo cookies, well....that did not work out too well so I just decided to try to make a different cookie tonight.  I decided to make 'sunshine' cookies since we have had such beautiful weather so the blue cookie represents the blue sky.  My husband thinks that they look more like flowers but I am still sticking to sunshine cookies!

Heart Flower Cake Pops

Side View of Red Pop
Top View of Lilac Pop

I was in a store after Valentine's Day and happened upon a bag of heart shaped Gobstoppers that were on sale, I picked them up knowing that I could do something with them.  Four heart shaped candies make a perfect flower shape.  These cute cake pops can be for many occasions....Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, A Garden Party or just because!  The centre is a mini jawbreaker and then the flower is made from 4 heart shaped Gobstoppers but you could use any heart shaped candy!

Flower Cake Pops

Flower Cake Pop
We are having our big fundraiser for Young Life tomorrow and I wanted to help out by making cake pops to sell.  Our entertainment night and auction is our big money maker to help kids go to camp.  I decided to make these flower cake pops to sell tomorrow night.  I just made the basic cake pop and then I used a mini jawbreaker as the middle of the flower and Mike & Ike's for the petals!  Simple to make and nice and 'springy.'  Perfect for a spring treat!
